# Share and export

> Send a chat to anyone, print it, or take the data to Excel.

## Share a chat

**1. Open the share dialog**

Click **Share** in the chat header.

**2. Copy the link**

Click **Copy link**. The first click creates the link and copies it.

**3. Send it**

Paste the link wherever you like. The button in the chat header now reads **Shared**.

The link shares the chat up to the moment you shared it. If you keep chatting, the dialog shows how many newer messages are not shared yet. Click **Update** to add them.

### What readers see

Anyone with the link can read the chat without a Kepler account. They enter an email address first, then read the whole chat, citations and workbooks included. They can click through to public sources such as filings and transcripts. Your own documents open only if you allow it in the link settings.

The share dialog lists who **Opened the link**, with the email each reader entered and when. Kepler does not verify these addresses.

### Link settings

Click the gear in the share dialog to change the link:

* **Link expires:** after 7 days, 30 days, or never. New links expire after 30 days.
* **Allow viewers to open private documents:** lets readers open the documents from your library that the chat cites. They never see the rest of your files.
* **Regenerate:** replaces the link. The old link stops working.
* **Revoke:** turns the link off.

## Print a chat

Click **Print** in the chat header. Your browser's print dialog opens, where you can print or save the chat as a PDF. Answers and tables print intact.

## Take the data to Excel

Click **Download as Excel** on any table, workbook, or financial statement to get an `.xlsx` file. To copy a whole answer, use **Copy message** below it.
